I got Few bayonets. I know ones I have are original I researched the manufactures and serial #. The reason i ask is because when i run into a bayonet i want to be able to tell which manufacture mad it and if it real from a glance.

do all ordnance coeds apply to Bayonets as well?

Thanks for the links i really appreciate it, if you guys collect bayonets any hints to help tell originals?

simple answer, Yes! mostly...some late war ones can be found without any markings, but usually stamped with maker name/lettered code,e.g.early examples,s,g,followed by a number, then they changed to named maker and then later in 40/41 to the 2/3 letter code for maker e.g. bym,agv,asw..B.C.NETWORK have all this info and use this as a rule of thumb, another very good site, BAyonet Collection Presentation ray..

    You are welcome, Franz!

I really don't collect bayonets or other items, but I'm glad to share the results of my investigations in Internet with shipmates as you:cool:!
