I just posted this in the newbie section but realized this would be a more fitting category.

Hi there, I'm actively looking for a guard that will fit on a WWII GI knife that I'm currently working on. The knife has a stacked leather handle with a pinned metal pommel. The knife can be seen below with the original guard. Any help pointing me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

That's a PAL RH-36, a commercial hunting knife that was a popular GI purchase. A number were also picked up by the quartermaster corps, but I *think* they were not general issue, but something that could be purchased at the PX.

Why do you want to replace the guard? A little polishing should make it right again.

Thanks for the help. The original guard was lost due to negligence and I need to replace it. I am furious it was lost, but trying to spend my energy looking for a replacement piece.
