Here-ye, here-ye! Ok, guys - for those of you in the greater Indiana / Illinois area, I'm giving you the official HEADS-UP for one of the largest regional re-enactments you will find! Coming in two weekends (FIRST WEEKEND IN MAY) at "Buckley Homestead" just east of Lowell, IN. There is an expected attendance of approxiamately 300 re-enactors of various "nationalities" including, but not limited to, the following: German: - Heer and XX Panzer Grenadier, Infantry - Luftwaffe Paras and Field Divisions - Armored Fighting Vehicles (Halftracks, Hetzer, others) - Original Field Ordinance (75mm Pak, 75mm IG, 37mm Pak, 8cm Mortars, MGs, PanzerSchrecks, 50mm Paks (russian), mines, etc...) US: - Line Infantry, Armored Infantry - 82nd Airborne, 101st, Glidesborne - Stuart, multiple Halftracks, possibility of Sherman / Chaffee / Jacksons - Field Ordinance (75mm Howitzer, mortars, MGs, etc...) British: - Guards, Line, Paras - Bren Carriers? Assorted weaponry Polish: - Paras and Armored Also in attendance will be repeated flybys by assorted military craft, inlcuding the P-51, Ju-52, Ju-87, and a US Transport plane. There could also be Free French or resistance. The scenario is shortly after D-Day, June - '44. I'm telling you - this is one of my favorite events nationwide! Be there, and have a great time. Public display battles occur on Saturday and Sunday, twice a day, before and after the lunch period. Period camps will be displayed, as well as informative shows covering 40's life.
