We picked up a Sandy pilot one time, he had crashed and shagged it away from the column of smoke. The LT talked him down to the river bank and he was very glad to get in with the friendlies. I was checking him out for mud, blood and gear and he was saying something over and over under his breath. I had to ask, and he upped to the volume enough for me to hear "Pilots hate walking home from work!" He didn't stop saying that until I hit him with an ampule of morphine. He needed some rest.
