My father in law was just here for Thanksgiving dinner with some stories from his days as an engineer on the bombers in the South Pacific. In New Guinea our guys were meeting these natives walking around with war spears and women in tow. Louis made the mistake of asking one of the warriors about the spear-he was promptly treated to a few light stabs to the chest as the warrior danced about and sang his song of his feats in war. "Do NOT ask the locals about their spears!" a man arrived too late. "Thanks..." JeffinMNUSA
Just as well you're Father in law kept his mouth closed, sounds like he was much smarter than this guy Louis. Cheers.
And Oh I forgot; he said the Aussies called the people of New Guinea "Fuzzies" and treated them terribly-even recommending that should a crew be downed in the jungle and be confronted by warriors to shoot one of them just to get their attention. Well it's what he said! At any rate, talk about "getting more than you bargained for."
