Anything that can consume your day should have this topic somewhere on the internet; therefor..
You know when you've spend too much time on this forum/learning ww2 history when....
    Be creative.

You think that talking a lot will get you promoted.

You consider joining the army because you like brownies.

All your sentences are only 3 words long since you assume other people will finish them.

You wonder how to make smileys while talking to other people

You can't find the [Edit] button after saying something stupid

I don't really have to add anything, my post count should speak for itself...

When you find that you know your true friends only by their nicknames.

When you think normal people care about your World War II forum.

When you start believing that it is normal for a reply in a discussion to have a day's delay.

You recount all significant history about 1415 before you realise you were looking at a digital clock.

When somebody asks you a question, you point out to them that they need to answer the previous question first.

When stuck in a traffic jam, you wish your saloon was a Dozertank.

I keep finding that I want to put smilies into e-mails etc, and get frustrated when I can't!

    P.S: Rhyming slang? Where?

But a 'saloon car' is a type of car. I never knew about the slang angle.
    I think it is essentially a 4-door non-hatchback.

As in a Jaguar Saloon. http://www.jag-lovers.org/saloons/

    rhyming slang

Advice from me Roel, do not venture down that road unless you want to open a new thread. For instance, there's a Richard, a Thomas and a Tom you would not want to know about!

Saloon car, as in Ricky's explanation is correct. I had not heard of Roel's rhyming slang either.

Merlin. What about a Richard III? ;) :D

I was writing a letter the other day, I automatically started drawing smilies....

You know when you've spent too long on international forums when you know the time difference between different countries...it's 6.30 am here so it's 4.30 pm in Brisbane, 1.30 am in New York, 1.30 pm in Hong Kong, 7.30 am in South Africa......

I hadn't thought of that! I only know because of the people that I speak to for fun.

I spend far too long on forums....I need to get off them and get a life!

I find I'm lost in day to day life without my smilies....I have to use my facial muscles!

Does anyone else think that the smile.... :) ...looks like a sarcastic sort of smile...very false....or is it just me.....OK it's just me!
