Might I ask why you choose this car, Castelot? It seems pretty common to me.

I like more inline 6 than V-6 because inline has different sound and vibrates less. Best sound is definitely V-8 !

Because I like common cars.....

No, seriously there's absolutely nothing common on this car.
It was introduced in 1970, and for it's time was more than futuristic.

-Unique combination of high performance and best comfort

-First it had the original Citroen hydropneumatic suspension, automatically adapting on load and division of weight.

-It's lights swirell with the steering wheel

-Unique self centering and fully powered steering(even on standstill)

These and many other features are not found in common modern cars.

It was also made famous because it was (and still is) the car used by french presidents.
Even soviet leader Leonid Brezhnev ordered one which was maintained by KGB.
(BTW, Hollands soccer star Johan Cruyff also had one, even today the dutch are buying the most beautifull surviving SM's).

But I also like it because my uncle had one when I was a child, and back then already I loved it.

Well, V-6 allows higher rpm without ripping itself apart. This has something to do with the lenght of crankshaft.

I have several "favourite" cars and its a bit hard to say which one is above the rest. But Shelby Cobra 427 has always been one of my favourites so I choose it.

Castelot, wasn't that SM the car which brought Citroen to bankrupt?

No, but it didn't help either.
Citroen had relied for too long upon producing extravagant cars, but had forgotten to replace the DS in time, and had neglected the smaller family segment.(The GS of 1970 came too late)
And so Peugeot took it's opportunity....
The SM was from the start on not meant to be sold in great numbers.(Altough the oil crisis and the autophobia of french politicians helped shorten it's carreer).

I thought I had seen this car around a lot. :D

It sounds like it was indeed quite a car for its time. But today's toys are a bit, well, more today don't you think? ;)
Come to think of it, I really don't have a favorite car, I should probably just shut up.
