of a tale wherein a British, Long Range Recon Group was hunting their German Counterparts, well to the South of all the major fighting in North Africa and found out by the places where their different wheeled vehicle tracks intersected in the desert that they both, were in fact being hunted by a much larger group of Arabs?

I heard it in passing and found it fascinating.

It sounds very interesting . I'm afraid it's the first time I hear about this though I will check my Dessert RATS and Afrika Korps files just in case.

No, never heard anything like that and I have read some on the LRDG operations. If anything, the Germans rarely if ever ventured into the deeper parts of the Sahara like the LRDG did. Their main threat came from aircraft patrolling these expanses.
As for the Arabs and other peoples in these areas most ignored the war. Some took sides while others just took the side of whoever was present at the moment. I don't know of any large scale Arab actions at all.

Nope, never heard of one so far as I have read of the battles in North Africa.

Would make a great film though...
