Hello everyone. I have joined the forum just today and look forward to my stay. I have long been interested in WW2 and studying the different aspects of the war, such as the reasons, the people, the places. I had a great uncle that served in Europe but unfortunately he passed when I was younger and before my interest had set in. I'm excited to learn much from everyone and hopefully provide some usefullness myself.
Welcome Manchester, good to have a Mizzou here. To use that oft said motto, you're going to have to "Show Me". For you Limeys who may not understand this, see this this page on state nicknames.
Thank you for the welcome gentlemen. I can already see this is going to be a website that causes my wife to mention something about me spending too much time on the computer. Maybe I can "show you" the knot she leaves on my noggin'.
And I'll show you mine... Make her real anxious and try out our companion forum, run by a gaggle of Limeys. I am one of their resident Septics. The site is ww2talk and, along with this forum, makes up the twin pillars of "OttoForums International". I saunter about in there, posting and antagonizing them as I see fit. They've only banned me once, mind you. You'll have to remember that Monty is a god over there, so tick a lock.
Ha ha. As Jeff said, I think we all (the married ones) have had the same experience. Welcome aboard. Happy posting.
I've seen mention of the other forum in my VAST readings here so far, just haven't had a chance to make it over there yet. There's still so much on here to catch up with in the time since this one was started until I signed on. I can't believe it took me this long to find it.
Maybe I should give it a try too! They'll love me when they notice I am from the other side of the Channel
