I read that the site housed a military hospital in the 1870s. The graves could have been casualties of the Franco-Prussian War and not the result of any type of atrocity. Hmm I'd be interested in the results of the Carbon14 tests. I'd say Naponleanic wars (1814) rather than the Franco Prussian war of 1870-1870. The 1870 fights were more in the Lorraine area, the 1814 fights almost everywhere...
