I have heard of a german special unit which had been collecting intel (signals) on the 8th Army for quite a while when the battle of El Alamein started, and that was wiped out (if I remember well, at Tel El Eisa) by a special Kiwi detachment which had as its only mission to do so.

Can anyone help me with info on the subject?

    Thanks for the info.

When I came across the thread about the Brandenburgers in Africa, I remembered about this special signals collection unit, and trying to explore a little bit more before asking for help, got to see your thread, but thinking about Kiwis instead of Diggers, just went over it without giving it a look.
