I found out about ww2f.com in the latest edition of World War 2 magazine.

I've been interested in WWII when I saw 12 O' Clock High for the first time when I was 6 years old. I really got a kick out of the top turrets on the B-17. I've been hooked since! (Drove my parents and teachers crazy because the only books I read cover to cover were WWII books. At least I was reading something I'd tell them!)

I find all aspects of the war interesting. Lately, it's the naval battles in the Solomon Islands (my neighbor was stationed at Guadalcanal plus my friend's grandfather served on the USS Laffey).

Anyway, this looks like a great site and a fun place. Here's to lots of good times ahead!

Welcome on the forum. I understand how you like turrets. My dream would be to try out the rear turret of a Lancaster.

The B-17 looks like such a huge airplane...Till you see it up close. It's not much bigger than a modern fighter.
