My name is Larry. I am a nephew/godson of Dick Maslankowski, who was in the 106th Golden Lions from start to finish. He was awarded the Silver Star for action during the Battle of the Bulge. Six years ago I discovered his hidden past and am now trying to retrace his story for our family. My uncle died in 1980 from cancer. Along the way I have accumulated a good sized library of books and DVD's about WWII, focused mainly on the ETO. This forum is a very pleasant "find" during a google search and I am very excited to have the opportunity learn from the vets who were there, the researchers and scholars who put it all together and family members strive to preserve the memory of their heros. Perhaps along the way I can assist someone else as well.
Welcome to the Forum, CamerAce. Like you searching for information on family - in my case my Dad - has had me researching and learning about WWII and brought me here, where I've learned more since last November than I probably learned in the preceding 10 years! I hope you enjoy it here.
