What a wretched way to start the football season. Brady is out, perhaps for the rest of the season. Not only does that scuttle the Pats for 2008-9 but it also scuttles my fantasy football team. This is just not fair!
For the first time in three years Brady didn't appear on the injury report, and now may be out for the season. I'm tired of the Patriots winning all the time so they could use the down year.
Ahem . . . he was my first round pick in my fantasy football league. I could have waited another year for his demise!
man, as a lifelong New England fan, things are not good. this is just gonna be one of those years. and just when i think i can look at a football game without feeling depressed, we get killed by the Dolphins. oh well, at least Cassel has a chance to play and start some games
according to the unofficial depth chart, they've got Kevin O'Connell and Matt Gutierrez. I've never heard of either of em
I think they drafted O'Connell this year and Gutierrez was cut from the practice squad and then brought back. . . . I think.
Oh... that makes sense. when Cassel came in, i remember they mentioned in the paper that Gutierrez was his backup; i don't recall O'Connell being mentioned. On another note, I know of this poor guy up here who put down all his bets for the 08 season about an hour before Brady got hit. talk about rotten luck!
Now which one of the Brady Bunch boys was he, the ultra-cool oldest, the dorky middle boy or the freckle-faced baby one?
I view it as Karma, from Spy-gate and being extremely cocky. I am glad that PATS fans are consumed with misery this season. Apparently Harrison, though, tore a muscle on his own? Didn't hear anything about taking/giving a hit that resulted in the injury. He is getting up there in age though. Amazing though, to go from a one-loss season to bottom of the bunch!
Ahem . . . . not bottom of the bunch. Pats have a 4-2 record and are only a game behind the surprising Buffalo Bills. The season is far from over. Admittedly, with Maroney done, Sammy Morris and Lamont Jordan injured, and a little known rookie getting most of the RB time today while Matt Cassell throws . . . . well, maybe we drop to 4-3 by the end of the day.
Don't forget that FS or SS that is out for the season (career) too. Some mighty big holes to plug, but they aren't going to get anywhere anytime fast (even if they should reach the playoffs).
