Hello everyone. I was born in Wales and have been living in the USA for some time now. My father passed away recently and since he never spoke about his service in WW11 I never asked him for details as it was evidently very personal to him. He served with the 4th battalion of the Welch Regiment in Normandy and after being injured there and recuperating, he was transferred to the 2nd Batallion of the Welch Regiment in Burma. I know of some incidents related to his service in Normandy and would like to find out some more specifics. So, I will have some questions for the learned members of this fine forum. I would like to thank Otto for allowing me in to the forum so quickly and furthermore for any WW2 veterans here I offer my undying thanks for their efforts in those terrible years of war. I may be the first generation of people in Britain who really did not have to go to war and I am sure this is due to the sacrifices made in my father's generation.
We'll get along just fine. I am a Boston College fan so I favor the Gators in the SEC and oppose all things FSU and Miami!

My father was in the 4th welch Battalion and landed at Normandy. I might be able to help you. Regards
