I came across some information about the Bundswehr's latest effort in re-instating the Iron Cross, and the opposition to it by the PC police. The new decoration is called the Bundswehr Cross for Honor and Bravery. It is a neck order, and the cross itself is gold in color and is suspended from a ribbon with the colors of Germany. The Bundswehr's position was that the iron cross was the traditional symbol of the German army, and the PC police claimed the iron cross was a symbol made infamous by the Nazi's. I guess this is some sort of compromise to appease everyone.

It looks ok, the new award that is, but it doesn't look as cool as the black Iron Crosses of old, from a purely historical and nostolgic standpoint that is....

Sounds like some of the overly PC minded individuals who want to change the flag of Alabama (see below) because it faintly favors the Southern Cross.

Don't get me started on that....

And the Confederate Airforce changing it's name to the "Commemerative Airforce." When will it end?

"Can't we all just get along?" Not as long as the ACLU is still around as GofW clearly pointed out.

AMEN to that Brother. Less than a mile from where im now living at is a smallish private airport and there are some "old warbirds" there and almost daily, I see one of them fly right over my neighborhood. :-D

About 25-30 years ago, I was a ""Colonel"" in the CONFEDERATE Airforce.Though my dark blue cap wore out decades ago-I still have my "Ghost Squadron" patch somewhere amongst my things.

Right you are on the new version not looking as good as the older ones, but I'm sure the current recipients chests will stick out just as far as their grandfathers and great-grandfathers chests did with the new ones pinned on it. Let's just hope that there are no more opportunities for such things, but we all know that won't happen. It's nice to think of though, especially today.

Brother, you can say THAT again-and a major headache. I still cannot believe that THAT many people were ignorant enough to vote for this drug-addict. That's just great-all we need is another clinton in office. I'll give the "I can't answer that question because it's out of my pay grade" buffoon a chance. The guy fouls up-and all bets are off.
