I have tried to go through St.Louis to get info on my grandfather and his time during WWII, I recieved a letter saying that his material was part of the fire that destroyed many veterans documents. The only material we have (meaning my family) are the ones he brought back from Europe in 1947. He was awarded two bronze stars and in one of the boxes that had the bronze star was a citation describing it. A lot of it was coded (within the citation which is attached to this post) and the other bronze star has no information at all (that I could find). Is there any other avenues to pursue information regarding not just the bronze star's but anything else might be documented regarding my grandfather? Anything information regarding this topic would be greatly appreciated. His name was 1sgt Walter Neton, 101st AB 506th PIR Headquarters service company, truckmaster.

    Thank you,

Dave (grandson of 1sgt walter neton)
