Ninety-four year old John "Red" Hall is on the trip of his lifetime.

"I'm excited about the whole thing, from one end to the other," said Hall.

"I never thought I'd see the day to do this."

The World War II Army Air Corps sergeant left Murfreesboro Friday afternoon in the passenger seat of a Gold Wing trike (a three-wheel motorcycle), on what will be the first leg of a journey that will take him all the way to the World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C.

"I haven't ridden a motorcycle since I got out of service (in 1945)," said Hall, who was as excited about the ride as he was about the historic landmark he will be visiting.
