Ryan Leaf, who has spent much of his life in the glamour of success or the glare of shame, was arrested in his hometown of Great Falls Friday afternoon on burglary, theft and drug charges.

Former NFL quarterback Ryan Leaf has been formally charged with four felonies on accusations that he broke into an acquaintance's home in Great Falls to steal prescription painkillers, then robbed a second home two days after being released from jail.
The charges, filed by the Cascade County Attorney's Office on Thursday but not released to the public until Friday afternoon, include two counts of burglary and two counts of criminal possession of dangerous drugs. If convicted, Leaf faces a maximum prison sentence of 20 years on each burglary charge and five years for each possession charge.

LUBBOCK, Texas — The Texas prosecutor who brokered a plea deal with former NFL quarterback Ryan Leaf filed a motion Monday to revoke his probation and will press for prison time.
