I didn't see this one anywhere. RIP Albert.

    Albert Benjamin Meserlin
He had been employed as a vice president at Fidelity Union Trust, Newark. Mr. Meserlin was a proud veteran of the US Army serving as General Eisenhower's personal photographer. He received the European African Middle Eastern Campaign Ribbon with three bronze battle stars. Albert was the last survivor present at the signing of the peace treaty in Rheims, France, that ended World War II. Brookdale Community College will dedicate Mr. Meserlin's World War II photo gallery as an addition to their library on May 7th, 2009. Born in East Orange, he had lived in Chatham Boro for many years before moving to Sea Girt. He had graduated from Seton Hall University, he was a member of the Sea Girt Board of Adjustment and the Sea Girt Volunteer Fire Department. An avid fisherman and photographer he was a member of the Belmar Fishing Club, a longtime member of St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, Spring Lake, and had volunteered in the ICU at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune. He was predeceased by his brothers, Robert and Harold Meserlin and his sister, Lorraine Schwartz. He is survived by his wife of 65 years Irene Simpson Meserlin; his two daughters and their husbands, Carol and Danny Feiss of Spring Lake Heights, and Beverly and Joseph Grogan of Fair Haven, his sister June Brownlie of Youngstown, Ohio; his six grandchildren, Wendy Baron, Pamela McCann, Gregory Hall, Sarah Dey, Joseph A. and Lindsey Grogan, and his five great grandchildren Thomas McCann, Keighly and Michael Baron and Londyn Hall and Kaitlyn Dey. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Friday, April 3, 2009 at 11 a.m. at St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, Spring Lake. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, 907 4th Ave., Spring Lake, NJ 07762. Arrangements are under the direction of the O'Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy. 35, Wall.
