My mom & I were going through the box of photos and came across one of my Dad & the generator he & a buddy built during WWII. He was a Tech Sergent in an Air Engineer Squadron (see other post for more info/photos: http://www.ww2f.com/...air-corps.html ) They had requested additional generators, but none were available, so they built them. We have a letter somewhere from his commanding officer that was sent back to his father, commending his ability to build the generator. It said to the effect that it may not have been as quiet or as small as a government issue generator, but worked just as well, if not better.

My Dad is the one on the right. There was no info as to where the picture was taken or who the other person is.

He would have been 30, give or take. He was born in 1913, so he wasn't as young as a lot of the guys.
