"The bombing of Pearl Harbor in 1941 prompted a then 20-year-old Robert Streckenbach of Green Bay to enlist in the U-S Army Air Corps. Heading off to fight in World War II he left his family behind. "I was 15 at the time I can remember he was fun we always had fun with him," said Joyce Clark, Streckenbach's sister. Clark remembers her brother fondly, and sadly remembers the day she learned he was missing in action. "My mother answered the door, I heard her say 'oh no,' I knew what had happened," she said. That was 66 years ago. Her brother's last flight was over New Guinea when the plane he was in crashed during a storm. "The plane had been on a night mission, there was a storm and crashed into a mountainside and ended up in a deep ravine," she explained." See video here: World War II casualty returned home
