This was a great fine that I just came upon...personally I haven't seen many of these myself. Sorry if this has ever been posted before. Also, it took a bit to load even though it's in like a slide show like format...but that could just be computer. Enjoy guys! Let me know what you think! Nazi Germany - Color Photos from LIFE archive
Remarkable photos! Compared to the Allies, Nazi Germany's way of war was "magnificent" if one could put it that way.
Jy; Lot's of pomp and ceremony to be sure. I recall reading something from Hitler to the effect that terror must accompany all such rallies. A sense of "play along or terrible things will happen to you" was essential to the NAZI control mechanisms. It was statistically safer to be a member of the Reich than even the most devout communist in Stalin's Russia-so long as you "towed the mark." Dissent was simply not tolerated and God help you if you were a natural born comedian. A museum on the subject; http://museums.nuremberg.de/documentation-centre/ JeffinMNUSA
Well I can't let you have all the fun with those awesome pictures you always put up Why thank you! I spent many a sleepless night coming up with that name And yet....it means absolutely nothing!
TIME always has some nice photos of ww2. I wonder how many photos that haven't been posted to the public that are still floating out there somewhere waited to be shown!
Ya they always have great pictures...especially the ones in color. The color photos are by far my favorite...too bad there are very few in battle color photos or few color photos of armor, weapons etc...
Excellent photos fartnuts... Now that's a one of a kind username.. fartnuts! I think if I ever get a squrrel for a pet, that will definitely be it's name!!
I found the pictures interesting, but kind of disturbing in that, these are the kinds of photos of the pageantry of the Nazis that gets some people excited about them. I think we also need to see the other side, like this one.
Well said LRusso, It's important to remember the victims of Nazism... Lest we forget.. Although the pictures are interesting, it's purpose I don't think are to glorify the nazis.. It's just a history lesson from that period. Some of those photos look like they were just taken recently.
Sunny, I understand what you mean. The Nazis knew how to do pageantry, but it is that pageantry that so many wannabes look at and forget the brutality that accompanied it.
