I'm looking for information about the equippement of the indian cavalry regiments that fought during the Nosrth african campaign.

    In particular

CIH: Central hindia Horse Before and during crusader.

13th Connaught Lancers: During the Gazala battles and until the retreat to Alamein.

The Guides: Retreat to Alamein ( I'm not sure if they were really involved, i've read they were covering the retreat and passed around the 18th Indian brigade box at Deir sein just before it was overrun).

Any information about the commitment of the last 2 would be very appreciated.

    Thanks

    Eduard

The Official History of the Indian Armed Forces in the Second World War: 1939-1945 has a volume titled North African Campaign, 1940-43
Unfortunately, I don't have it here. I'll see if my partner in crime has it in his collection.

We don't have a copy, but Missouri State does. On the trail.
