It's my pleasure, I checked many of the WWII Manuals and the info provided is good, I have many US Army and USMC Manuals from 2000-2009 and had a chance to compare them.

 

If you are looking for comprehensive lists of Field Manuals and Training Manuals, FM 21-6 which is a listing of training publications is an invaluable resource. Here is a link to 3 versions during WWII: 1940, 1943 and 1945.

nice! and apparently there is a July 1, 1942 edition as well, prior to splitting the films into their own manual FM 21-7.

 

Today, I have posted up a long list of World War II-vintage Field Manuals produced by the War Department for the United States Army. “The List” includes 470 titles and revisions, and includes all of the titles authorized in the 1945 version of FM 21-6, as well as many others published previously. Does anyone know when more of the Field Manuals at the Hyperwar web site will be accessible in PDF file? Many are already clickable, but many important FM's are not.

That's because some have been Transferred to PDF Others haven't or You need a Written request to see who wants those Manuals and Why. The conspiracy of homeland Security.

!n Archives Many Files will never be released or Blacked OUT Or haven't been Released, Or like in Canada I have To write or send them A Fax requesting the File ####### and seeing if It's available for Public Viewing. Then I have To pay the Shipping ++.

Jason4473, what a great find you have there, especially since the manuals are dated '41 through '45. FMs at least give us an idea of the training and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) that WWII units followed. I always wondered how closely they were followed in combat, since the old addage is "once in combat, 'the book' goes out the window."
