State of Origin 2010

When the fireworks go off to signal the beginning of State of Origin during Game 1 on May 26, 2010, there will be only one thing on the minds of the NSW fans and players; Revenge!
Craig Bellamy's Blues will be desperate to draw first blood and prevent QLD from extending their record-breaking consecutive series victories to 5 in a row.

Game 1: May 26, 2010 - ANZ Stadium, Sydney
Game 2: June 16, 2010 – Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane
Game 3: July 7, 2010 - ANZ Stadium, Sydney

With 17 of the best players from each of the two states lined up against each other, the State of Origin series is an ultimate test in a player’s NRL career.

To be a part of more than 30 years of rivalry between the two states is something each selected player will cherish. Players will be known as heroes or villains as any match could be decided by a last minute field goal, a miscalculated pass or a fingertip losing its grip on the ball.

The series will be full of memorable and magical moments. Debutants and veterans alike will be blooded into the tense and fiery exchanges from the word go. Emotions will run high amongst fans and while Blues supporters will cling to the hope of home ground advantage, Maroons fans will be packing out Game 2 at Suncorp Stadium to cheer their boys’ home.

Will the magical talent of Jarryd Hayne help the Blues avenge last year’s 2-1 series defeat, or will Mal Meninga’s boys continue on their merry way? Be there with FOX SPORTS TRAVEL to witness the highs and lows as the game’s elite battle it out to take home another exciting State of Origin series. Remember – Nothing Beats Being There!

For want of a nail the shoe was lost, for the want of a shoe the horse was lost, for the want of a horse the rider was lost, for the want of a rider the battle was lost, For want of a battle the kingdom was lost, and all for the want of a horseshoe nail.

I love the state of origin matches.. regardless of if its a playoff of the weaker code of rugby ;) i really love the NSW team, they play with so much passion in front of their home crowd. Should be really interesting to see these two go at it this year. Too bad there wasnt a union state of origin..
