I am looking for my deceased uncle's RAF service records for a family history. Leslie Cushion had experience as a wireless officer in the merchant marine and served as a squadron leader and later group captain in an Intellegence unit in Southeast Asia, including stripping downed aircraft in the Burma jungle. He worked for Remington Rand before and after the war. Born 1902; died 1983. Lived his married adult life in Newcastle, Glasgow and Edinburgh. Any clues on how to proceed would be most welcome!
Welcome to the Forum. You may want to post your request in the Information Request and Genealogical Search section. In it you will find this sticky thread http://www.ww2f.com/military-servic...arch/36895-requesting-uk-service-records.html which may help you. Good Luck!
Good place to start if your still around is RAFsignals museum Henlow. He could well have started off with 80 signals and if air rarther than ground related 100 gp. Look also at TTU involvement if fitting stuff or evaluating to aircraft. RAF sigs and elint and intel is and was a massive branch. Start at Henlow and chicksands sites on net.
