    Hi guys,

As per my other post in the info section, I have been reading the war dairies for 2/23rd battalion on the 17th May 1941. There was a battle or skirmish near a water tower.

The diary mentions A, B, C and D coy and where they were positioned. Is there any way I can find out which coy my great uncle was in? It doesn't seem to show anything like that on his service record.

    Thanks for your help.

The only remaining water tower was to the left of the 2/23rd on hill 209. However, they did have the north-south water supply pipe running through their positions.

It is sometimes very difficult to to pin point a man in a particular company unless he gets a mention in the war diary.

    Cheers - Steve
