I am going to be studying the North African Campaign soon. Can anyone suggest a book that covers the subject fairly completely. I usually try to get a complete book, then go back and fill in on books of individual battles. Any suggetions would be appreciated. Thanks
Here is a thread about books on the subject. It is rather old, but I suspect the books might be helpful. http://www.ww2f.com/north-africa-we...operation-torch/18248-north-africa-books.html For the American perspective, try Rick Atkinson's The Day of Battle, it's the second in a planned trilogy on American forces in the European theater.
If you want the war through a fictional but objectively true novel, i suggest Killing Rommel by Steven Pressfeild.
A very recent one from Stackpole Books is "ROMMEL'S AFRIKA KORP: El Agheila to El Alamein", available on Amazon for around $15.00 US.
