    Erich,
The signature often depends on how old they were when they signed it.
I have the envelope and a letter from him (Dickfeld) that this pic was sent with so I know it should be good. This example of Dickfeld that I posted is very recent, he is well into his 80s or 90s when he signed this photo, I will post and earlier Dickfeld I have to compare with.
    There are all kinds of things to consider with autographs, for example;
With Hermann Graf, he came down with Parkinson's in 1961 and as the years progressed, until he passed, his signature got worse and shakier with the years until it was almost illegible.
I have an early Hajo Hermann signature that is nice and sharp and an older more recent one that is more angular and sketchy.
Another thing that happend as these guys got older is their family members signed the photos for them. In Europe this is considered acceptable but it is best if you know that ahead of time.
Their signatures also change with time for some of them and for some of us as well. My signature has changed about 4 times over the past 30 years and originally it was round and looped now I sign very angularly and straight up and down instead of slanted.
I have examples of Rudel's signatures from the 1960's, 70's and 80's before his stroke and they changed with each decade.
So these are some things you have to look out for if you are a collector of autographs not only from WW2 heroes but with any celebrity.

here is an earlier Dickfeld to compare.

Here are 3 samples of Hermann Graf's signatures that changed as he got older and his Parkinson's became more dibilitating

These are all Hermann Graf signatures from reliable sources and you can see the difference. If you compare a war time signed Graf it is a real nice flowing and fancy signature.

This is why I try to find the earliest "post war" signatures that I can find. A lot of people would mail these guys in the late 90's and into the 2000 decade but the signatures they got back were not real nice and flowing like the german script that they signed with 30 or more years ago.

I finally took my pics to Kinko's to scan them all and I am downloading them onto photobucket so I can do these post in a much more organized manner now that I have the posting figured out

sorry for the duplicates from earlier post and the excessive posts I did before I figured out how to post more than one picture per thread

yes I was looking at some od pics from the 60's and some of the guys barely hanging on and their writing skills have declined over many years, so have mine.

one of them was Hadeball's, who used to use his full name till the last months then it was his last name only

well after spending about 5 hours today working on photo bucket to upload my photos that I just scanned at kinkos it appears photo bucket has banned my account and I am not sure why.
does anyone know if photo bucket considers photos of german ww2 pilots to be offensive material?
    any input would be appreciated
    thank you
    Lacy

seems your photobucket acct is re-activated then ? could be the swastika symbol that is objectionable

    Erich,
that is what I am thinking that they find the swastika offensive but that is just ignorance, we can watch saving private ryan, or the inglorious bastards, history channel and many other things about ww2 which show this symbol in a historical sense, not glorifying the nazi party or the belief system of former or present "nazi's"
I wrote to them and told them I was just uploading WW2 photos of pilots and aces from different countries and had no affiliation with any "nazi" organization nor was I promoting that aspect. This was just photos of the war which is something that occurred, is a historical fact and just showing pics of the war or the people who fought in it is no way a political or belief system view of things.
    they are just war pics
they still will not tell me what specific term of policy that they claim I violated and I have asked them to clarify this 3 times now.
