I'm a bit late, but yesterday was the 66th anniversary of the rising- "ON AUGUST 1st Poles commemorate the 66th anniversary of the first shots fired in the Warsaw Rising, an ill-fated attempt by the Polish underground state to wrest control of the capital from the Nazi occupiers. In a valiant effort the Home Army (known by its Polish acronym AK), the underground state's main military outfit with 400,000 sworn members nationwide, held out for 63 days before succumbing to the Nazi war machine."
