    A group that battled to save the Anne Frank tree from being cut down only to see it toppled by a storm says they hope a shoot growing from the chestnut's splintered trunk will give the historic tree a new lease of life.

    Oh well, it was sick and supposed to be cut down in 2005. The group who battled to preserve it was right but there is no way to fight against time. 100 chesnuts from this very trre have been planted throughout the world though. One of them can be seen in paris at the Anne Franck square

    Thats pretty cool...Why don't they take a cutting off one of those...its the same tree? Could even take the sprout out, cultivate it and re-plant...
