James F. Feeney, 91 passed away jan 9th 2011, he served as a 1st Aerial Observation Pilot flying 102 combat missions.

James F. Feeney, 91

James Francis Feeney of Westport, husband of Phyllis (Goulden) Feeney. passed away Jan. 9 in Norwalk Hospital in the company of his family. He was 91.Posted Image

Mr. Feeney was born July 26, 1919. in Bridgeport, son of the late Francis and Edna (Lynch) Feeney and has been a lifelong resident of Westport.
Prior to retiring, Jim owned and operated P&J Decorating Co., a plastics decorating company located in South Norwalk. He is a member of the 1938 graduating class of Staples High School.
Jim is a veteran of World War II served as a 1st Aerial Observation Pilot flying 102 combat missions in the Eastern Theater of Operation and was awarded the Air Medal with Cluster. He was a member and past president of the Joseph J. Clinton, VFW Post 399.
Survivors in addition to his wife of 69 years includes one son, David A. Feeney of Westport, one daughter, Martha (Marty) A. Harris of Goshen, Conn., two grandchildren, Kelly Taylor of Morris, Conn., Sean Harris of New Hartford, Conn., and three great grandchildren, Sophie and Marin Taylor and Bayden James Harris.
Mr. Feeney was also predeceased by one brother, Charles Feeney and three sisters, Kathryn Ryan, Mary Feeney and Margarite Ball.
Friends are invited to attend a mass of Christian burial on Saturday, Jan. 15 at 10 a.m. meeting directly at Assumption Church. Interment with full military honors will follow in Willowbrook Cemetery 395 Main St. Westport.
The family will receive friends in the Harding Funeral Home 210 Post Road East, on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m.
