The surprise (to myself) was honoring Ed Sabol of NFL films. I knew quite a bit about his battle to get his "vision" of the game onto film, I didn't know he landed on Utah beach, fought with Patton's Third, and held a swimming title in his youth.

His son Steve tells the tale of his still alive and alert father (95) at an interview.

NFL Videos: Elected to HOF: Ed Sabol

Very touching, there are links to the other interviews as well, but due to the D-Day +5 connection I thought I would share this with you guys.

Nice that someone inducted will not have the number of arrests listed among his stats.

    Clint,
Thanks for posting this....as a fan I knew of his son(Steve) but not of Ed. It is nice to see "One of the good guys" getting some recognition! Will have to check out the other interviews.
Belasar......loved your addition:lol:.....it doesn't seem as though many pro atheletes dont have some kind of "baggage" attached!
    Regards
    Clint
