Since I last posted sometime ago, I have obtained more information regarding my father.
I know he was in Pomig area, Fano, and Serragia(JULY 44??). He was in the 85th Sq of the 79th FG. A Flying Skull.
He did Aviation Cadet Training at LukeField AZ.
He was in Waco, Squadron LC15 or LC 1S??
He returned as a Instructor at Marana in Tuscon.
I found a "Yearbook" of "BEE TEE 43-H, Gardner Field CA, 6/43
There are lots of his friends that signed his book by their photos.
What is confusing is how to figure out the dates of the above??? I know he joined in 1940, not sure if waco was where he went first or what.
I believe his records were some of the ones destroyed in the fire in St Louis.
I am having difficulty putting his experiences in chronological order.
I am going to DC next month and wonder if anyone has suggestions as what to see???

    JK

I would suggest you contact the current "reunion" site for the 79th Fighter Group, they usually have a historian and records of thier operations , good luck !!!!!!!!!!!!
