    Hi,
Can anyone tell me how to seek and obtain information from German archives ?
The question is to find the equivalent of After Action Report or Morning reports from the German army.
This is to find details of the fighting that took place between 3 and 5 January 1945 in Dambach-Neunhoffen in Alsace (France)
I note that the AAR and MR did not find the information sought.
German unity that where present at that time, 481 VGR from the 256 VGD.

    Thanks very much.

    Eric

Eric, if you don't get a response in this thread, try sending a PM to Ulrich (Gebirgsjaeger). He might be able to offer some assistance.

    Bundesarchiv - Freiburg im Breisgau

Should be the place to go.

On the other hand, you can try the american Archives, they also got a lot of documents. But as its not a really "important" unit, it could be rather difficult.
