I saw this story and thought it worthy of a re-post.

Vincenzo Romeo hoped to open a pizzeria in his hometown of Easton after getting discharged from the Army in the summer of 1950, but a week before his enlistment was up, the nation went to war.

The 1947 Easton High School graduate, an Army cook, now found himself headed to Korea with the 8[SUP]t[/SUP][SUP]h[/SUP] Cavalry Regiment.
