It is with extraordinary regret that I am asked to announce the retirement of Brndirt1, our dear friend Clint Wigen, from moderator status. Clint has been fighting cancer for a long time and he is no longer able to function in the manner that he feels he must. Clint will be visiting as regularly as he can. Clint, my good friend, take care and I will keep an eye out for your posts.
Take Care Clint. You're one of a handful to post that I make sure to always read. Your expertise on WW2 subjects is only surpassed by your Tales of Montana Life. Oh and your recipes ! :S!
Clint has been a gentleman to me on this forum and his evenhandedness a blessing to all. I am glad he will continue to contribute, it is always welcome.
I hope Clint bounces back, will say prayers for that.....hopefully he will find good and pleasant escape here with us with no responsibilities so that he just enjoys the company of his friends here!
Clint-I too have enjoyed your Montana stories and appreciated your calm manners here. Wish you the best! Keep on enjoying that Montana "Big Sky"!!
Cowboys are tough men, if anyone can beat it Clint can. He has always been a scholar and a gentleman. I have always highly respected him. I wish him the best in his fight, I will pray that he prevails. In times of great struggle it is easy to feel you are alone, Clint, we're all pulling for you. If you ever just need a friend to talk to PM me, I have a big mouth, but I'm also a good listener.
Clint, We've gone back a long ways on various boards. Not only this one, but also THC. I hope you beat this one too, but I must say that I've enjoyed every one of our exchanges. Whether you make your point, or I made mine, I always came out a better man. Good luck, Pard!
Clint and I have chatted privately during our time with the "C" word, I'm haning in there but with a long way to go, Clint has something different and could use everyones prayers now, it hurts, it is inconvenient, at times scary and it as a disease is truly from Satan in my view ......... be strong/positive as much as you are able Clint you know you are in my thoughts and prayers
I'm sorry to hear you're leaving as a mod. You are a real WW2 and Montana aficionado. Best of luck to you. Keep fighting.
Clint will return...Or I'm not British. Clint did me a big favour a few years back...Martin got me here, but you can blame Clint for keeping me here together with Lou. At a time when the gung ho was to the fore a few years ago, I like many despaired of America. On all forums including this one at times it seemed as if the cheese hating, we can do what ever we like brigade had won the day...Clint and Lou also, showed me and many I would think in their calm knowledgeable writings at the time...that America, the America I had known and read of since a child was still there...still kicking, and folk like him have shown us over the pond and elsewhere that America still is the America we have always known, and the 7th Cavalry are sitting over that hill and always will be while the likes of Clint and Lou are around... Best of British luck Clint and Lou....
Thank you all for your support and extremely kind words, I am humbled to have so many cyber-friends. I hope to lurk around as a "non-staffer", a simple Rogue making an occasional post if he thinks he has something to add. Thanks again to all, and "Sometimes the trails we ride are happy ones, sometimes the trails are blue. Its how you ride the trail that counts, so here's wishing a happy one for you." (Dale Evans/Roy Rogers theme) Clint.
