May François Jacob rest in peace. He died on april 21st, at the age of 92.

This man join the Free French in London as early as June 1940 and fought the Germans in the Lybia ,Fezzan, Tripolitaine and Tnuisia Campaigns. He firs tjoint the Senegalese Tirailleurs and later the 2nd Free French Armored Division under Leclerc.
He was a Normandy Veteran too and was badly wounded at Mortain on August 8th 1944. He survived but partly lost the use of an arm which gave him a bitter taste of freedom because his dream of becoming a surgeon had vanished. Therefore he became a scientist and a good one too :he received the Nobel prize! :poppy:

It's sad to me how every man that's not a part of the US Army, the Commonwealth army or the Wermacht and fought in the west is largely forgotten...
