I've just opened up a nifty little feature to all members of the WW2 Forums, we now have an online Member Map to see where your forum colleagues are located. You can access it using the link at the top of the page in the main menu bar.

I do not recommend anyone using their actual address, simply enter your city or town. I've got Chicago put in, which is accurate, but not terribly specific about where I actually reside.

Add yourself to the map, if you dare!

I did. You can be as vague as you think necessary. My "pin" is in Alabama, but not terribly close to where I live, which is good.

One of these nights, late mind you, I am going to put my full address in there and see if it marks my house.

    More to come.

The map is part of my goal to get a Rogue meetup in Chicago sometime. Not sure how many members we've got in the area, this should help figure that out.

    That is very nice indeed.

I am just going to leave it at country level unless there are any other Irish around here!!!

This is going to be fun seeing the general location of folks on here.
I stayed with Minnesota and nothing any more specific than that. If you use the satellite view and put in an address you can see if the car is in the driveway! I might put the address to the local golf course since I've been spending a lot of time there lately.

To say my computer skills are lacking would be a gross understatement, I did manage to build my tower from NewEgg parts, just do not know how to use it !.

I succeeded in getting a green pin in Auburn , Alabama, if you greatly blow up the scale, essentially having the Southeast covering the screen but otherwise nothing appears. I see Kai-Petri's big pin sticking in Finland but cannot figure out how to do that.........Just occurred to me it could be based on some criteria, like 20,000 post !! But then my near neighbor Jeff shows up only as a small number???

Not really important but nice if one could find people on a world scale

I just put in Auburn, Alabama and thought I had gotten no results . when I blew up the map to huge scale, a big green pin came up. Scale had Alabama and a few neighboring states. But at world map scale I see Kai-Petri's prominent and well deserved pin but few others. It would seem to be a good idea if we would see where people are at that scale.

Have I entered information wrongly ? If I go to large scale I can find lots of folks but exploring Manitoba at large scale is a task !!! Big place, that. Went to the upper Cotswolds trying to find urgh but found only sheep :)

Gaines, near Jeff in East Alabama.

PS , Weird, my first post did not take so I did another and when posting it the first one came up and a "C" showed up under my name. Does than mean corporal or "C" for 100 in Latin ?

PPS ! I am getting the hang of the map now, many thanks, great idea !

Got the map as well. Do the awards not show up for mods? I see nothing by my name, nor is anything listed in the awards section.

Whoops. It showed up after I posted. Ignore the previous comment. Move along. Nothing to see here.

I set my location as Twin Cities, MN and it put me right in the middle of the Mississippi River. I think it's trying to tell me something.

Nice addition, if more people add markers we may get a very easy to use reference on where to find a "local rogue" when researching a particular location.

My location is in the map.
I put East Yorkshire in which is quite a large area but my location is not far off from where the marker is (in fact it's in a better place than where I actually live!!)

I changed my locale to the office. Just returned with an extra $20.00 :) Marker shows me just off the 8th fairway which is pretty darn accurate.

urqh, everyone's computer but your's has a huge bio-hazard marker over your location on the Member Map. We all feel much safer this way.
