    Extraordinary pics. I have never seen them before. The chronology brings the pics to life. Good find. The courage of those engineers rigging the bomb.

    Just noticed the caption for pic 6 is incorrect. That's the Hiroshima bomb, not the Nagasaki bomb.

    so fat man was much bigger than little boy. i'm curious about those "thin man" tubes. they're the actual "guns" that will drive a uranium projectile into the center of a uranium sphere? in the picture, it said plutonium, which i don't think is possible.

    Little Boy was a uranium gun bomb, so (relatively) simple that they didn't need to test it.
