    Greetings dear friends!

I have been trying to find information on these fighters. To no avail .... Who are these unknown guys? with a peculiar sign on their helmets ?? :headbash:

    Alex,
To my eyes it looks more like a stylized goose or swan than a lightning bolt. This might be a different path to look into.
    Good luck

Kind of agree on the "goose" or some form of bird. Germany raised a somewhat bewildering array of non German troops during the war, often in small and relatively obscure formations. Noting the unusual weapons and accouterments, my guess that these are some of these. probably eastern front or from the Balkans.

They have Finnish uniforms so I'm pretty sure they are Finnish soldiers in Finland/Eastern Karelia, not Germans - during Continuation War, since it's summer

I do agree that the insignia looks something like a swan. If they are Finnish soldiers as mentioned above, it may be useful to know that the national bird of Finland is the Whooper Swan :) .

I still cannot find out which unit it is though
