Was also going to ask that, Gaines :)...A little more info would be nice. Wondering what the rent cost, if it never increased, how it was paid, etc etc.

Have heard other accounts where some poor slob is discovered mummified ( or chewed on by the cat ), sitting in front of a blaring television for the last 20 years...That's how I want to go. TV for 20 years, and still feed the cat.

Are Emu's from AU? Thought Africa. When that bird was stuffed ( just stuffed a bird, lol ), there were no laws protecting animals that Im aware of...Like the buffalo here, peeps thought they would be around forever.

Thought our crows/ravens were nasty. ..A red tailed hawk jumped at my car last year from the meridian that separates the opposing traffic. It must have made a kill in the green space between lanes, and couldn't gain enough space to take off, eh. Hitting birds here are common. And very sad. Like killing bambi. Or a zombie. Because zombies something something something.

Our Kites here keep a keen eye out for road kill...and are pretty car canny...they'l circle and then make a quick death dive, pulling up at the last moment with some meat scooped up expertly...never seen one hit. Nothing big enough near the towns for our eagles though...i see the occasional Sea Eagle given i work near the water...we have buzzards too!

Having an Emu (which was rare, exotic and expensive) showed your social status. This was high society of course. Note Pigalle was the Red quarter of the city.
