Guys, thanks for clearing this up for me. My grand uncle was Lt jg Trevor Henry Fox, he was a career navy man enlisting before the war and was 46 when he died. Had always heard the stories from my dad and my grand mother about his naval exploits and that he was killed in the Mt Hood explosion, but I realized after reading up on the history of the explosion of the Hood that since he is buried in Golden Gate National Cemetery that he couldn't have been on the Hood, but must have been on one of the nearby ships. As it turns out he was attached to the USS Mindanao, but this also shows a mistake on his gravestone (see the link) which says he died on 10 NOV, the day of the explosion, but according to the JAG link he died in the hospital on 12 NOV.
