Welcome Andy, it is so good to see you drop in. I truly look forward to seeing what your father has to say. I assume the thread you were having problem with was the 30th Recon Timeline? If you continue to have problems with it, let me know and I will look further into it, but I couldn't see any reason on our end that would prevent your comments. Anything your father would like to add through you is always welcome. You can only add new post at the end of the thread. If you make a post and it is out of sequence with the timeline, I can edit the previous posts and put his comments on the correct dates.
Hi Andy. Glad you found us. I see you've already met Jeff who, along with Marion Sandford, has written a book tracing the 30th Recon and their slog through Europe. They will be in Europe next month. I hope they can pick you and your father's brains beforehand.
Thank-you for the welcoming comments. It is totally fine that he was quoted in a post. I was referring to the 30th Recon Timeline and will add as much as I can there. There is a great deal that I have relayed to dad regarding Marion Sanford's recollections and he can confirm some of it and also add a different perspective because he was in the 2nd Platoon. He had some contact with 2 other members of the 30th Recon because they lived fairly close to each other.
Welcome to the Forum, Andrew. Please extend our thanks and appreciation to your father for his service during the War.
