THROUGH THE LENS -- Not everyone went to war, but for this farm girl from Alberta, joining the RCAF and becoming a photographer was the biggest thrill of her life. Click on the Wartime Wednesdays link to read more.

Still another great post, Elinor. It shows Canadian women during WW2 in a different light.

Interesting article, my mother inlaw also served in the RCAF as a photographer. I quite enjoy her scrap book and so does she. Her memory isn't too good for present items but when we take her book to the home she is in her memory is quite good for the stuff in her book, She is a BC girl, trained in Alberta and went to New Foundland which was considered oversea

Ken, where is your mother from? I would love to know more about her -- there are so few still living. You can email me at elinor1@telus.net if you like.
