    More like a spigot mortar than a howitzer.

    Did you see the guy on welding duty? Or the use of a pick axe to help load round... A miracle it shoots...But, in a pinch...Maybe they were trying to infer it had some gas attack capability? Why use propane as an explosive when other stuff is prolly more effective.

    No miracle there. It's just a huge honkin' piece of pipe with wheels. The "miracle" is that the can construct the spigot mortar rounds. Still, I fear that they are fugitives from the law of averages, and that the law will catch up to them in a rather spectacular way.

    No, it does not sound as if they are using propane as an explosive. the article says that they are using old propane tanks(as a casing) with which to make the shells, and then filling them with a "crude explosive mixture." Probably homemade powder or some such.

    I'll bet loading that thing, or even standing near it, induces a significant amount of pucker.

    only if the loading guy with the pickax uses the pointy end.
