    Hi guys,just a quick question .Did the british army utiliise U.S trucks in the same way that they did with the Jeeps,Halftracks etc.? Thanks,Lee.

    Quick answer: Yes.

    Jimmies, Whites, Dodge etc. all came on Lend lease.
    They are perhaps less noticeable, because the British had a reasonably well developed heavy haulage manufacturing base in comparison to most European countries, so were able to service much of their needs in the area from indigenous gear (and of course, CMP stuff and other colonial production.)

    Got some good pics of 'flat-packed' Lorries being assembled in India somewhere, but they do not appear to be where I thought I'd left them....

    I am guessing that British forces made a concerted effort to retain consistent types within a formation?

    I think the Diamond T 980 was designed specifically for the UK. Also used by the Americans.
    They used a lot of Mack NOs too. Another one of my favorites
