Handsome fellow. Very dashing with the Errol Flynn mustachio as well. Goes to show the long arm of Hollywood transcended political and social boundaries.


I dare say that Mussolini would not have allowed American films in Italy. Jazz music was certainly banned. Whether he was worried about Italian morality, or simply wanted to encourage Italian films and music, I don't know. But I do know that Cine' City had no Hollywood for a long time, and the best thing that Allied soldier bands could do for Italian civilians during the occupation was to play them some Jazz.
