Hello! Does anyone have information concerning these two ships, and the Naval Air Station in Aguana Guam? I understand the SS Comet was under the control of the US Army,I think it quite possible the SS Matsonia was as well.

I'm pretty sure my Dad mentioned being aboard the Matsonia when it was used as an Army troop transport. I transcribed his World War II South Pacific service journal at www.frozenprose.com. I don't know if WordPress has a search feature, but you can skim the latter entries.
Photos of many ships used in World War II are on Wikipedia.
    Good luck!
